I had my surgery about 12 years ago, when it was very new in the US. Even though it didn't completely stop my periods, it was the best thing I have EVER done for myself. I went from heavy 7 days to 3 days almost nothing. My doctor asked me to have this surgery and be his guinea pig. I was his first patient on his own, outside of training. I am now 46 and have had no period at all for over a year. Except for hot flashes, I wouldn't know I was in menopause.
