Has anyone had severe low back pain after seasonal flu shot?

I took a mandatory flu shot at work Oct. 19, 2009 on my left arm. I had chills and a fever of 102* along with left arm aching pain, and a bout of severe low back pain within the first 2 weeks after receiving the shot. All other symptoms have since dissipated except for the severe low back pain and a strange wobbliness in my legs. The low back pain is bad enough to where I could not move by myself for a week, and now cannot really sit or bend without a high degree of constant pain.

I am the one who shared my experience of taking the flu shot on 8th Nov 2019. I'm back here to write what has happened since then. I went to the GP many times for the muscle aches, recurring UTI and many other problems but i got no good solution. All i could understand by my symptoms was that my nervous system and my muscles had a
very bad impact of the Flu shot. I was also low on Vitamin D and Vitamin B12 and that i think might have aggravated the issue. I finally decided to take supplements and immediately switched to Homeopathy. My homeopathic doctor told me that my body is reacting to the toxins of the flu shot so i will take 3 months to recover completely. I started taking homeopathic meds and within one week i started getting relief and its been 15 days now I'm almost completely recovered. I also took one massage session also to relax my aching mucles. My advice to anyone facing the same issue please switch to Naturopathy and if possible avoid taking allopathic pain killers.

I had a Flu shot at Walgreens on November 16th 2019. I am a 60 year old mail. About one week after the shot my lower back on both sides, hips, abdomen, groin area all have pain. Also my legs and toes on both feet feel like pins and needles. My primary care Dr. just put me on steroids. I hope this helps soon.

Posting here is not enough! Please report your symptoms here it’s the only way to log these reactions, the only way they will research. Please please pass this to others. Vaccine Adverse Event though government website. I’m a nurse had the same symptoms. Doctors don’t share this info because they don’t know it exists: I have spoken to cdc directly. I received a flu shot on 8/11/2019. A day after it i started feeling unwell. Had spasmodic inflammatory lower back pain. After 4 days i had pain in my lower abdomen as well. Showed it to the Doctor and found that i had UTI. The nurse said that i may have had a minor infection one prior to taking the shot that has got aggravated after it. Finally after 3 days of medication my UTI is gone but i still have muscle tightness in my lower back that goes to the hip. Initially i had mild backache that was only on the right hip but now after 13 days it has increased and covers the entire lower back. Am in lot of pain and Ibprufen does give temporary relief am not able to understand what is the solution and when will this go :(

I had flu jab 8 days ago. Since then had severe lower back pain radiating to left hip area. Have also felt generally unwell since. Felt fine before. I’m 65yo male. Normally fit and well.
Will think twice again.

Hello, Anon,

Do you know which shot you received? Fluzone High-Dose is licensed specifically for people 65 years and older. It contains four times the antigen of standard-dose inactivated influenza vaccines. If you had the lower dose shot last year, and the higher dose this time, that might explain the increased side effects. You can check with your pharmacist on this.
