Thanks for your reply. I am very aware that peoples periods change over time and can be affected by a variety of things. However you mention as possible concerns the very reasons I was concerned. That is that the bleeding was both extremely heavy and incredibly painful. The pain and bleeding have finally subsided (it took almost 10 days for the bleeding to stop and I still have some soreness and pain during intercourse). I am curious what it could have been and if it still warrants a visit to the doctor or if it should just clear up with time.
