I have actually never heard of this so I did some research and found that this home method is very much disputed as a form of treatment for herpes. Have you consulted a doctor about this? Also, are you currently on any antivirals? They are highly effective in treating and preventing outbreaks.
As far as the peroxide use in question, the most I found was that there is something called Oxygen therapy but hydrogen peroxide should not be used in the genital area. Unfortunately, I could not find ANY reliable sites worth mentioning and hope that someone else on the site could help you in providing more information.
