I've had Crohn's for 30 years. I always experience a massive increase in quality of life when there is bright sunshine.
I had a bad flare-up about 5 years back, in the middle of winter. I started sunbeds (only 3 times a week, for 3 minutes each time) and experienced a marked improvement. I've been following that sunbed regime every winter since then. Although I prefer to get the real thing, and try to take a week's sun-holiday in winter, if I can.
