Agoraphobia is not a 'mental disorder', it is an emotional patterned response to a primary condition of panic disorder. It need not, as suggested, be difficult to treat, by understanding and learning to cope with panic then sufferers are able to slowly and gradually buid confidence in their ability to face panic inducing situations.
