In much of Europe it is practically illegal to circumcise baby boys or minor males with an exception for Muslims and Jews to do religious circumcisions. Many countries in Europe, especially Sweden and Finland, want to make it illegal to circumcise all baby boys and all minor males, but they can't because of too much protesting from Muslims and Jews. If a country in Europe tried to make it illegal to circumcise all minor males, there would be huge protests and huge violent riots from Muslims and Jews. Although it won't be any time soon, I think some day circumcising minor males will be illegal in the U.S. with an exception for religious reasons and extremely rare medical need.
According to the Old Testament males are supposed to be circumcised as a religious sacrifice, which is why Muslims and Jews do circumcisions. But according to the New Testament, because Jesus died on the cross for us, males are no longer supposed to make the sacrifice of circumcision. In Galatians 5: 1-6 it says "If you receive circumcision, Christ will be of no advantage to you."
