You will be happy to know that it is only untreated or inadequately treated hypothyroidism that can cause problems for your baby.

Since your doctors are on top of this, know about your condition, and you are seeing a specialist, then your thyroid condition will be properly treated. Be sure to ask a lot of questions about how often you should have your TSH levels checked, what symptoms to pay attention to, when to know if medication is/is not working, etc. Thyroid medications are safe to use during pregnancy (again, it is the UNtreated condition that can be potentially harmful to the baby).
