Hi, Im 47 years old and have been taking adderall 30 mg for 8 years now. I started having the hot/ cold flashes and night sweats over a year ago. My Dr said she believed it to pre menopause.Three months ago I decided to break my 30 mg in half and only take 15 mg a day . I felt like the sweats had something to do with the adderall and not only that, I have trouble sleeping at night and have to take ambien every night. So i gradually stop taking it and things have gotton a lot worse. The sweats are 3 tmes worse. I feel really lazy , sleepiness , no motivation to do anyhing , have dizziness, I feel sad and depressed, i cry a lot , my appetite is ridiculous and eat a lot. So I go see my Dr. I told her that i stop taking the adderall and all the symtoms that i was having and i actually had a melt down while talking to her. Im not usually one that cries, especially in front of anyone. She thinks its hormonal due to pre menopause and dont seem to think it has anything to do with the adderall. She put me on a med for depression and said to come back in a month to put me on some hormone med. I have been taking the med for depression for 1 month now . I dont feel like an egg shell thats about to crack anymore (depressed) but still experiencing all the other symtoms and I've gained 20 lbs in 3 months and still eating like a horse. I started back taking the 15 mg adderall couple days a week . Those days i feel so much better! Its like my body craves it when i dont take it. Personally i think all of these symtoms is caused from adderall. Had i known before, probally would have never started taking it.Now I've got to decide if the good over rides the bad and go back on it daily.
