Hi Pink - Thanks for writing. Changes in the breast, such as this cyst, can be caused by both benign conditions or by cancer. The majority of breast cysts are benign, however, it would be best if you had this checked out by your doctor.

As a young woman you have many years ahead of you in which you may see changes in your breasts. Here's some information from the American Cancer Society which you may find helpful in understanding these changes: http://www.cancer.org/docroot/CRI/content/CRI_2_6X_Non_Cancerous_Breast_Conditions_59.asp

Your swollen lymph nodes may or may not be related to this. Lymph nodes are part of your body's lymphatic system which is a key part of your immune system which helps the body fight infections or cancers. Sometimes lymph nodes become enlarged or swollen when they fight an infection since they are producing additional white blood cells. This can cause tenderness and pain. You should also have this symptom checked out by your doctor as soon as you can.

Will you let us know what your doctor says? We wish you the best. Pat
