It could be an infection in the mouth spreading, and you may need a root canal. I got a very sore bump in the roof of my mouth along with painful teeth, so I went to my dentist. I had a root canal done but it was never quite finished. My appointment to get it finished has been delayed several times and the bump is back in the same place so I am going back to my dentist.
