Hi Anonymous

This is a very valid question. I can say a few things here. Women with genital warts give birth all the time. Sometimes if they are having an outbreak genitally the obstetrician will perform a cesarean.

Has your wife been tested? Many people carry HPV and have no idea, so it's possible she already has it. If not, how old is she? The HPV vaccine is recommended for women up to 26 years old, so that may be another possibility. The vaccine protects against the most dangerous strains of HPV, including those most likely to cause genital warts. I think your best bet is to sit down for a consult with your wife and her ob/gyne and discuss your options. There is plenty of information about HPV all over the internet, but it is going to come down to the circumstances of your particular case and the health of you and your wife and the risks/benefits of unprotected sex. But know that people with HPV have babies all the time, and I'm certain you'll be able to work something out in your case.

Best of luck to you and your wife.
