I'm so sorry that you're in the middle of fertility testing and that you want so badly to conceive. I know it's a rollercoaster of emotion and it can be very hard to deal with.

To answer one of your questions, pre-menopause and peri-menopause are the same thing. They both mean that you are in the years before menopause (and they can last anywhere from 3 to 10 years; it doesn't necessarily mean it's right around the corner). Yes, perimenopausal women can conceive, depending on their circumstances, though it is definitely a more difficult task.
