This makes a lot of sense. It is for same reason advised to stretch right after a vigorous activity, for instance stretching legs after running. There is an element of shock, adrenaline, muscle extended flexibility, and increased blood circulation that adds to the ability to develop flexibility after any type of training, especially with resistance.
