This article has several glaring errors:
1) Reflexology is NOT a foot massage but a pressure point therapy (aka form of bodywork).
2) It is credited with originating first in Egypt than throughout a multitude of ancient cultures ranging from Aboriginal North Americans to the Orient.
3) Reflexologists do not claim to "cure" as that would be illegal in the United States. We claim to promote relaxation, balance and wellness for mind, body and spirit. We do not treat specific conditions or illnesses but we treat the whole person.
4) "Extreme pain or discomfort" is a sign of a poorly trained practitioner and the client should run far away from this therapist lest she be injured. Reflexology is not a therapy intended to be painful, sensitive yes, but not painful.

I hope you get a chance to experience a real Reflexology session in the future to see what it is really like! But please reconsider the publication of such misinformation about this healing modality.

Thank you,
