I think I may have some useful information on this topic...I stopped taking the last pill 5/29. Had my period 6/1 (the one that normally comes after 3 weeks of birth control pills). In July, my period was 2-3 days early (7/25) and started off brown for one day, then two days of heavy red flow, and then stopped abruptly on the second day. I thought that was implantation bleeding at first, got all excited and hopeful, but it was not. My next period didn't come until SEPTEMBER 4th - TWO WEEKS LATE! I thought I was pregnant...kept taking the pregnancy tests, always negative. Then I researched "getting off the pill" and how it affects ovulation, your period, etc. I was alo taking OPK's to monitor ovulation. I never got the line to be exactly equal to or darker than the test line...and it dawned on me that I have not ovulated after I stopped the pill. I am hopeful that this period (which should be over tomorrow) is my first normal period after birth control (it looks and feels like it is - but then again how can it be a "normal" period if I did not ovulate right?). I'm watching carefully to determine if I will ovulate this month...charting my temperature, using OPK's and BDing. Also, I'm praying to St. Gerard to send a little angel our way. My advice to all women....GET OFF THE PILL!!! I will never go on it again!
