Hi Anonymous,
Thanks for your question, and for finding EmpowHer. I'm not a doctor, and your doctor or nurse practitioner would be able to tell you for sure, but it sounds to me like a normal irregular period. I've had these in the past, and the nurse/doctor has told me to keep track of my cycle, and if this irregularity happens again next month, to set up an appointment. I also have been told in the past (not saying this is what is happening to you because everyone is different) that I could have been passing a cyst when having exceptional cramping and irregularly heavy flow.
If you are really concerned, call the doctor's office now and talk with the nurse just for your piece of mind, because your doctor's office is familiar with your personal history, and can diagnose and/or treat any issues you may be having. Here is an article about menstruation and what is considered "normal" and when to call the doctor. https://www.empowher.com/menstrual-cycle/content/menstruation-whats-normal-and-whats-not
Hope your cycle is normalized soon.
