Hi Katy - That's a good question. Generally, it takes
about 6-8 weeks to recover and resume the activities you had before your surgery. It's best to start out slow, and build up the level of your activities in a slow, steady manner, paying attention to how your body's responding so you don't overdo it.

At seven weeks post-op, you should already be able to do some light chores and drive, and even go back to work if you are involved in work that does not involve strenuous physical activity or lifting.

Women who have abdominal hysterectomies are generally advised to refrain from strenuous activity for about three months, but the recovery period is shorter for those who, like you, have had a vaginal procedure.
