Hi Amapas

We cannot diagnose you, but at your age the risk of stroke is relatively low. Are you on birth control pills? That raises your risk of clots, the cause of most strokes.

It seems more likely to be a neurological issue such as a neck problem. Spinal nerves come out of both sides of the spine at each level of vertebrae and pressure on those nerves related to bad posture or other issues can cause tingling. This is just one possibility.

Neurological issues can become quite serious, so it is important that you see a health care provider about this problem. Be sure to note when the tingling happens, what makes it worse, and what if anything makes it better. Pay attention to exactly where the tingling is, for example, is it in your pinky finger? Half of your thumb? That sort of thing. Is there a lack of coordination that goes with it? Change in color?

You are right to be concerned. Please make an appointment and let us know what happens. Numbness and/or tingling are nothing to fool around with. I hope it is a minor issue. Good luck and thank you for writing.
