Hi Haralee - As a fellow breast cancer survivor, I also want to see activities that truly do support breast cancer awareness, research and patients. As a leukemia survivor, however, I find it utterly reprehensible that some companies con people into donating money that goes nowhere while other forms of cancer do not get the awareness, research and patient support they need. This year, for the first time, I'm seeing many retailers and women's magazines spelling out exactly where funds are going, and it's about time. I'm also seeing a rising number of cancer bloggers speaking out about this, and asking women to think before they blindly buy something just because it's pink.
Hopefully at some point we as a society will start supporting all women with cancer with a united approach to this horrific disease. I'm glad you were able to receive support; our sisters with other cancers deserve the same.
