Thank you for your question. You will have to go and see a physician in order to find out why you are experiencing irregular periods. I, myself, had irregular periods for many many years and was placed on birth control for about 5 years to regulate my period. I took myself off the pill about 10 years ago and remain having a regular period.
As every woman is different, seeking a physicians opinion about your irregular periods will help figure out if there is an issue. I hope this helps. Please keep us posted on what your physician tells you.
