Hi Anonymous

Have you seen a health care provider for the hip?

It is possible that this is all related, but typically people who have aches from yeast overgrowth, which is what thrush is, have aches all over. You have a localized problem and that makes me think it is a localized issue not related to the systemic issues, if that makes sense.

You may have pulled a tendon deep inside your hip or have arthritis in there, either would be consistent with the symptoms you describe. I suggest you see an orthopaedic doctor to get that hip checked out, particularly since you run sometimes. You don't want to make it worse with your activity.

As for the thrush, that is frustrating as can be. They can give you meds to help systemically, but it may just be left over from a depressed immune system with being so sick. Dietary caution will help as well. It can take a while to turn that yeast overgrowth around.

Good luck, and I'm glad you are slowly improving! Thank you for writing.
