I had my full gastric bypass a year ago in July. I have had celiac spru for the last 9 years. I am doing very well after my surgery. I have lost 121 pounds and my celiac disease is well under control. I maintain my gluten free diet and well as a high protein diet. I stay away mostly from bread, gluten free, only having a slice or two occationally. I do like a gluten free bun with a burger. I do eat gluten free pasta (rice or noodles) mixed with my proteins. The symptoms are no worse than before my surgery. If I do get gluten in my diet by mistake, I feel it immediately. I have to take a massive amount of vitamins because of absorption problems. I have also added a probiotic which has Made a huge improvement in bowel health. I hope this helps someone In their decisions although every one is different. Good luck to you all out there.
