Hi Anonymous,
Thank you for your question and for finding EmpowHER. HPV is a virus, that can go dormant on its own. It never completely goes away. You may pass it back and forth between you and your wife for the rest of your lives if you don't use condoms. Your wife may want to make sure she keeps up to date on her gynecological exams to ensure any possible abnormal cells are caught early --that does the same for you. There is some good information in the posts on HPV from this nurse. It may help your understanding to check it out: Bonnie Diraimondo - Can HPV Go Away on its Own?
Good luck and let us know if you have any further questions.
