Hi Anonymous,
There are millions of people infected with HPV and many children are born to infected mothers daily. Now, there are several different strands of HPV which some cause genital warts while others do not. If you have genital warts and are currently experiencing an outbreak while giving birth, there is a possibility of transmitting it to the baby but usually your physician will be aware prior to giving birth.

Most research shows that Mother carriers of HPV do not pass it to their unborn babies though. As long as your physician is aware of the possibility, you should be just fine without passing it along to your child. Does this information help?

Here is more information about HPV and child birth for your convenience. This is the most recent study I found from the US National Institute of Medicine http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC540188/.

Good luck,
Missie
