Congratulations on reaching a healthy weight!

Your previous weight of 83 pounds (for a 5' 4.5" woman) is dangerously low, and I am so happy to hear that you received the help you needed!

As you know, recovering from anorexia will be a lifelong journey for you. It will not always be difficult or challenging, luckily, but it does sound like you are still very preoccupied and "anxious" as you say with the number of the scale, number of calories, instead of how you feel.

Healthy weight ranges for women with a 5' 4.5" frame ranges from 110 pounds to 147 pounds. What is healthy for one woman is not healthy for another woman; that is why the number on the scale is not the only indicator of what is deemed "healthy".

Because you have declared that you have reached a healthy weight (again, congratulations!), your body may take months or years to reach IT'S OWN healthy and maintainable weight. What is maintainable is what weight you can maintain while still having energy, mood stabilization, not feel as anxious about food and weight and numbers, what you can eat in healthy manner and how you can exercise in a healthy manner...on a mostly daily basis. Your current weight might not be what is "meant" for your body, and I hope you continue working with your doctors and health care providers about your anxieties about weight and calories.

Have you expressed your concern with them? What was the response(s) you received?
