It can be normal for women to miss a period, but if you are trying to conceive, you may want to call your gynecologist to inquire about a medical exam to make sure everything is OK. You may have missed two periods, since the spotting for just a day in September most likely was not a menstrual period.

Fear should not prevent you from taking a test or doing what is necessary to make sure your body is healthy. If you have a negative pregnancy test, it just means that for this particular cycle, you are not pregnant. You have MANY more cycles in your future, and most women do not conceive until 6-12 months after their first attempt of conceiving. If your last test was in October, take another pregnancy test this month, and call your doctor (whether it is positive or negative). A negative test does not mean you are unable to have a baby with your husband, but does indicate that you want to go to the doctor to make sure your body is healthy BEFORE trying to conceive, for the best chances of a healthy pregnancy.
