Some strains of HPV can lead to cervical cancer and those are found through a Pap test.
Some strains of HPV will clear from the body after a period of time, while others remain dormant and can resurface years later. That's why it's important to know exactly which strains you may have.
An HPV vaccine provides protection against some of the strains but does not provide protection for all of them.
