Since you are 17, are you able to call the doctor's office and ask to speak with a nurse? I think you have very valid questions:
1. "Since I am under 18, is everything I discuss with the doctor confidential, or will my mom know details about my medical records, sexual health?" You can let the nurse know that you are on your mother's/parent's insurance (correct) so they know about the appointment, you just want to know if the information you share with the doctor during your visit is confidential.
2. "What can I expect during my first doctor's visit?"
These are GREAT questions, and you can ask the nurse if you will be needing to expect a Pap Smear. If so, we can provide information for you about this, what to expect, etc.
