Hi mckenzie_2003,
Thanks for coming back and updating us. Our bodies aren't like an alarm clock that goes off at the same time as expected. Your period can change from month to month, and can be late or early, change in hue and heaviness, etc. Try and remain calm. If the HPT is negative, you don't have the pregnancy hormones it detects. If you don't get your period in the next few days, you can take another HPT, or call your doctor to get checked out. A menstrual cycle typically ranges from 24 to 35 days, and can be anywhere from 2 to 7 days in length. It also can be light one month, and heavier the next.
If you are concerned about being pregnant, you may want to avoid putting yourself at further risk by using condoms, spermicide, birth control pills or some other method in addition to using the withdrawal method.
For more detailed information, please review: How to Know if Your Period is Normal.
