Hi kvanalphen,
Thank you for your question and for joining EmpowHER. I personally can tell you after having had two c-sections that you can be aware if you want to, but you won't feel a thing, except for a little pressure. For me, the worst part was getting the spinal block. If you have had an epidural, you basically know what a spinal block is like. The only difference in my view is that you get a spinal block cold, with no prior medication, whereas if you are in labor you may have had medication already. I also have friends who have had ovaries removed because of ovarian cysts. I believe a cyst normally might be removed via laparoscopic surgery through a few tiny incisions, but since you are pregnant and having a c-section, you will be open already and the doctors can easily remove your cyst and ovary at that time. The recovery from c-section and ovary removal was pretty similar from talking with friends--it's about 2 weeks until you really are feeling better and stronger. The scar you get from a c-section is from an incision made just above your pubic hairline. My scar doesn't bother me at all, and it's actually kind of nice to be able to show it to my children and say, "That's where the doctor pulled you out of my tummy when you were just born." They think it's cool, and they like to touch it.
If you want a professional opinion in addition to links provided below, I can contact one associated with the website to ask them also.
Let me know if this is helping, and what other information you would like.
Here is a link about c-section, and ovary removal:

Good luck, and let us know how you're doing.
