Hi needabump,
Thank you for your question and for joining EmpowHER. Diabetes is a serious condition and will put you in the high-risk pregnancy category according to your doctor. However, you are not guaranteed to have those complications associated with diabetes and being pregnant. The key from what I've read comes from having good control of your blood sugars and working closely with your doctor to monitor your condition. If you are planning on getting pregnant, schedule an appointment with your doctor to discuss this and bring a list of questions and concerns. If you don't have an OB/Gyn, now is the time to get one that you are comfortable with.

Good luck and let us know how else we can help you.
