Thank you for your question and for finding EmpowHER. It sounds like you and your family need to be seen by a doctor about this. The bad smell could indicate an infection is present. It is not uncommon in Winter weather for skin to get very dry and cracked, and if an infection such as staph or strep can get in there, it can cause a lot of trouble for the person dealing with it. If your foot or leg swells and begins to seep liquid, you need to get immediately to a hospital.
