Your mom's miscarriage would not have anything to do with your chance of a miscarriage or not.

As Rosa said, since your pregnancy test showed negative, there would not be any "pregnancy hormones", and this fact coupled with a period and using a condom all suggest that you did not have a miscarriage.

Your body would most definitely react to abruptly stopping/starting hormonal contraception, and if you are scared, it is best to choose a contraception that you can use in a more consistent manner.

Why would your parents be concerned that you were going to the gynecologist? If you are sexually active, you need to also be receiving annual exams (I assume you are, since you have a prescription), and women should feel comfortable going to the doctor for any reason (it does not have to be sex-related to go the gynecologist!). Please know it is important if you ever do have any symptoms, that you can go to the gynecologist without anyone questioning your intentions or sexuality. And...great job on using a condom, by the way!
