I am not sure which Saturday you are referring to, but if your last menstrual period ended on March 24th, and you had unprotected sex the following Saturday (March 26th), it would be too early to have any symptoms of pregnancy (today is March 29th).

It actually takes 10-14 days for a woman to even become pregnant! This time accounts from time of ovulation, sperm to travel all the way to fallopian tube to fertilize an egg, the fertilized ovum takes a few days to travel to the uterus, to then find a place to implant...it takes quite a while before the fertilized egg is actually implanted in the uterus for a viable pregnancy. Therefore, any symptoms you have now are either from an illness, or emotional anxiety about a possible unintended pregnancy.

You would not know if you are pregnant until you have missed your next period, which is about 14 days after ovulation. You most likely did not ovulate a few days after your period ended, but some women might ovulate "early"...there is no safe time to have unprotected sex during your cycle. The likelihood of you being pregnant is not as high, but it is a possibility anytime you have unprotected sex.

You can take a home pregnancy test when you expect your next period, and it would be up to 99% accurate at detecting any "pregnancy hormone". Any earlier then this time, and the test is not as accurate (and you now know why...since it takes up to 14 days to even become pregnant after ovulation, this is the same amount of time when your period would start...not a coincidence).

I wish you the best, and please let us know when your period begins or you take a home pregnancy test.
