I am so sorry to hear that you have not gotten relief from the mood swings, insomnia and hair loss. You could be right that you have a hormone imbalance and maybe, the imbalance is in another gland, such as your thyroid gland.
As far as your score of 8 for estrogen level, I am confused on the range of measurement used in your testing. According to MedlinePlus: An estradiol test measures estrogen levels and the normal range is30 to 400 picograms per milliliters for perimenopausal women and 0 to 30 picograms per milliliters for postmenopausal women.
If you are not feeling well and are hesitant to take the prescribed antidepressants, I suggest you get a second opinion from another doctor.
