Hi Anonymous,
I can appreciate your concerns about your health. As you probably know, it is your ovaries that produce the hormones, estrogen and progesterone. When you had a hysterectomy, were your ovaries removed? I am going to assume that you were initially prescribed bio-identical hormone therapy because your natural estrogen and progesterone levels were low and that you were having menopausal symptoms such as hot flashes. Now, if your ovaries were removed surgically, you will not be producing these hormones naturally and may choose hormone replacement therapy to cope with menopausal symptoms.
Only your physician can advise you in continuing with this form of hormone replacement therapy, if this is what you choose to do. If you do not feel confident under the care of your current gynecologist, maybe you should consider getting another physician. You might consider choosing a gynecologist/obstetrician who focuses more on gynecology and menopausal issues instead of obstetrics.
