Resveratrol not only seems to be helpful with Cancer but also with Diabetes. The Albert Einstein Institute’s Diabetic Clinical Trials Unit presented the results of a promising study on the correlation between regular consumption of a resveratrol supplement and the health of patients with Impaired Glucose Tolerance (IGT), better known as Type 2 Diabetes. The pilot study, titled “Resveratrol Improves Glucose Metabolism in Older Adults with IGT”, involved a small group of diabetic adults who were given the resveratrol supplement Transmax, produced by nutraceutical company Biotivia LLC, on a daily basis over the course of four weeks. Data from the study indicated a clearly beneficial finding: at moderate doses, Transmax resveratrol improved insulin resistantance and post-meal plasma glucose in patients with IGT, a promising result for those with insulin resistance and postprandial hyperglycemia.
