Hi Anon,

Sorry for the misunderstanding. I think you may want to see another doctor regarding this-- because you say it is painful when your husband tries to penetrate you. You may have a condition called Vulvodynia, Vulvodynia is chronic pain or discomfort in the vulva. The vulva is often called the lips of the vagina. The vulva includes:
■Labia (labia majora and labia minora)
■Clitoris
■Vaginal opening

Please take a look at our Vulvodynia page here: https://www.empowher.com/condition/vulvodynia/definition

If the pain, is more in the pelvic area than it is externally then you may have Dyspareunia https://www.empowher.com/media/reference/dyspareunia

One thing I can say is that pain during intercouse may be normal the first couple of times but should definitely go away. After 5 years of marriage, if you are having pain to the point where you push your husband off of you then you may be suffering from one of these conditions. If you're doctor seems dismissive of your concerns, please consider a second opinion.

All the best!

Rosa
