Spotting in between periods is actually not as unusual as you may think. If you are still getting a normal period and have had a negative pregnancy test then you are not pregnant. Try not to overthink the spotting-- I know that people see spotting and automatically think implantation bleeding but the truth is that sometimes blood remains pooled from your last period and then it's released (that's why its brown because it's old blood). The key is to see if you're still getting your periods; if you are, then you are fine.
