Have you had a family history of sarcoidosis? Have you ever been exposed to beryllium? I am curious since you appear to be military. I happen to work in an industry where exposures to beryllium may cause sarcoidosis or what we call, chronic beryllium disease (CBD). Many health care centers are not familiar with CBD and therefore use sarcoidosis to diagnose patients with an unknown lung disease. The reality is, there is no clear definition about sarcoidosis and we have training on this specific disease often.

More often then not, there appears to be more misdiagnoses of sarcoidosis. Have you provided a full history of any possible exposures to any chemicals, birds, hay, etc. to your physician?
