A pregnancy test can detect pregnancy once you have already had a late period, not 10 days after sex or ovulation. Although you did not have sex on the day yiou were ovulating, you still had sex on the week of ovulation making it possible to get pregnant. Try not to worry about it too much and wait for your next period to come, if it doesn't you can then test for pregnancy and expect an accurate result.
