Dear Anonymous,
I'm so sorry you are experiencing this. Unfortunately, your fertile family history will not have an impact on your reproductive health. There are too many other factors now that play a larger role than genetics (social and environmental). Your specialist can best answer the question about your uterus after appropriate examination and testing.
Have you seen on the news stories about grandmothers giving birth to their grandchildren? It is possible these women went through menopause and were still able to carry a child. If your uterus is thinning, medication can be taken to thicken the lining.
When you meet with your doctor, I hope you will go with a list of questions. Let the doctor share their thoughts/findings. If they didn't answer your questions, make sure you take the time to ask.
Best of luck to you and your husband,
Davina
