Hi,
The aim of the CDC recommendation for vaccinating females, as early as age 9, is to immunize before the first sexual contact because they would not have been exposed to human papillomavirus. Once a girl or woman has been exposed to the virus, the vaccine might not work as well or might not work at all. Maybe, the time will come when the vaccine is offered to women who are over the age of 26, but have not had sexual contact.
