Uterine bleeding is different from period bleeding. Period bleeding will come when your period is supposed to come, lasts 3-7 days and returns again at its expected time the following month. Uterine bleeding, depending on the cause, can be painful, last only a few days or a few weeks, come at unexpected times, and can cause cramping that is different from period cramps.
