Hi Melissa6666,
What is the prescription that you are currently taking? Are you having any side effects from the treatment that you are currently taking as prescribed from your physician?
If you are thinking about stopping any medications prescribed by your treating physician, you should contact him/her first as we can offer you suggestions but you should always consult with your physician. For alternative medicines (vitamins), you should be looking for something dealing with joint pain as TMJ is considered pain in the jaw joints. Some suggestions are:
Plank recommends:
Chondroitin sulfate
Glucosamine sulfate
Calcium
Vitamin D3
Ginger
Turmeric
Omega-3
Green tea
More good options:
SAMe
MSM
Stinging nettle
Bromelain
Vitamin E
Devil's claw
Again, always consult with your physician first. I hope this helps.
