I believe this is related to your other posts, when you mentioned that your doctor (as well as many EmpowHER moderators) agreed that the pain you are experiencing could be related to shaving.
The term folliculitis is basically an infection and/or inflammation in the hair follicle (could be a result from shaving), and I assume this is what your doctor was prescribing antibiotics for...it is a good idea to ask your doctor if he was suspicious of folliculitis or other infection/inflammation of the hair follicle or skin tissue.
