Hi Anon,

The two most common symptoms of a blood clot in the neck are pain and swelling. Because a blood clot may only partially constrict the vein or artery in the neck, a partially closed passageway will still be able to let blood pass through it, but that passage will be more difficult. The pressure added by the clot will cause the area to swell because your body recognizes that there's an injury there that needs to be fixed--even if it's your body's natural healing processes that are causing the trouble.

Is there a reason why you think you may have a blood clot in your neck?

Hope this helps,

Rosa
