Hi Anon,

Thanks for your question!

Although being exposed to the sun mainly affects our skin, it affects our overall health because not only do we get red, wrinkled, or sun spots and other skin conditions but, unfortunately, we can get skin cancer. This result from being over-exposed and unprotected from the sun definitely affects our overall health. Unlike Basal Cell Carcinoma, which is local and rarely metastasizes, Melanoma is the leading cause of death from skin disease and this can greatly affect our lifespan. On the other hand, people who enjoy spending time out in the sun, while using sunscreen, may increase their lifespan due to the positive effects that enjoying the outdoors has on our body and mind. Spending time outside, admiring mother nature, even if it's just for 30 minutes a day can be a very rewarding thing.

Hope this answers your question,

Rosa
