I have been battling leg cramps for over 6 years. After I had my heart operation - 4-way bypass, they seemed to stop. I thought it was caffeine, and I stopped drinking anything with caffeine. This year has been the worse year ever for leg cramps. I have been to PCP, Vascular doctor who checked my veins and arteries, and they are good. Went to a Hematologist and he found low Vitamin D, and then went to an oncologist who said I could have low protein or cancer of the bone marrow. Then went to a Neurologist who did a MRI, and it showed that I had mild to moderate narrowing of the lumbar spine. I have had cramps last as long as 1/2 hour. They are paralyzing and debilitating. I have been taking Vitamin D and it is helping but not the answer. I cry and have had as many as 6 in a day. I get them in the toes, arches, ankles, calves, thighs, and have had them in my stomach. My enzymes are all good, Metabolism, Potassium, low in salt, etc. I am at a loss. Any suggestions?
